Supporting The Local Youth Through Sport

Provident is proud to support the badminton team of Don Eustaquio Hofeleña Integrated School in Silay City, Philippines, through the donation of badminton rackets, strings, and protective equipment.

For students in less fortunate communities, access to proper sporting equipment can be limited. Yet sport plays a vital role in building confidence, discipline, teamwork, and resilience, qualities that extend well beyond the court.

What began as a simple initiative has already shown meaningful impact. The students supported through this contribution progressed to compete in the Negros Island Region Athletics Association Meet (NIRAAM) badminton tournament, which officially commenced on 7 March 2026.

This milestone reflected the dedication of the students, the commitment of their teachers, and the strength of the school community. It also reinforces the importance of providing opportunities that enable young people to develop their potential through sport.

At Provident, we believe that supporting communities is an important part of responsible business. Initiatives like this demonstrate that even modest contributions can help create pathways for growth, confidence, and achievement.

We were honoured to receive a Certificate of Recognition from the school in appreciation of the support. More importantly, it was rewarding to see the students competing at a regional level, representing their school and community with pride.

The team were successful making it to the finals and we look forward to seeing their continued development.
